About

Sub/Object is a short film that I'm making in Unreal Engine.

In a not-too-distant future, brain-computer interfaces endow humans with new abilities, the most impactful of which is the ability to tether the minds of two or more people. This allows for a range of experiences, from simple sensory transmission to the complete fusion of consciousness. As humans grapple with this technology, there is a flourishing of creativity: new avenues for cooperation and competition, abuses and therapies, social mores, games, philosophies and art.

Sub/Object tells the story of two pioneers who are the first to bridge their minds and kick off the exploration of this inner universe.

This site is where I develop the world of Sub/Object and follow the movie production as I learn 3D animation from the ground up.

Until recently, high-quality 3D animation was produced only by large, well-funded teams of specialists. Now, a range of freely available tools make it possible for small teams or solo filmmakers to create cinematic imagery. The only barrier is the effort it takes to learn.

Smaller teams and minimal production costs mean that we can explore new styles and stories without concern for mass appeal. If you have fresh or bizarre ideas for movies, games, or virtual experiences, please reach out!
